A genuine 2015 note from Exeter, the region’s former local currency. You could spend it interchangeably with Sterling, in businesses where you saw the E£ sign, and it supported their communities.

The E£20 note was issued on 1 September 2015 and expired 30 September 2018. The obverse shows Jo Pavey, Exeter Athletics star, and the reverse has a picture of Exeter Cathedral, both drawn by Gareth Williams. The unusual hologram shows the Cathedral Green chestnut tree.
